Information – Travelling in France
We have noticed that generally the French have slowed down and keep close to the speed limits. Recent experiences in France indicate that they are tightening up on speeding.
For instance, a friend was recently pulled over after overtaking a truck in a 90kph limit, who then continued to maintain the overtaking speed until being pulled at 130kph, was given an on the spot fine of €137 and levied a further €85 on return to UK.
This in itself is not the end of the world – but it made a hole in the beer vouchers – the sting came when the drivers license was taken and a 3 month ban of driving in France slapped on. In this instance there was a pillion who could ride the bike, but if you were alone you would be left standing on the side of the road.

News – Vicky Folland
I passed my RoSPA advanced driving test in March 2022 with the help and support of RoSPA Advanced Drivers and Riders-Cleveland. In August I travelled to Birmingham to take the RoSPA Level 4 Award in Advanced Behavioural Driver Training which I went on to pass with flying colours, this allowed me to go on to the DVSA Fleet register. From here my work with RoSPA began, I’ve had some amazing opportunities to travel all over the UK to a variety of different workplaces to deliver driver assessor courses, advanced driving, defensive driving and Level 3 &4 courses. In January I was offered the opportunity to go to Malaysia to assess a Level 3 Award in Behavioural Driver Training (international) in January 2024, I travelled out there for 4 days and it was an absolute please to see the three delegates from Petronas deliver assessments to an extremely high standard. Since starting my journey with RoSPA my business has gone from strength to strength, the skills I have learned I have been able to incorporate into my driving school which has gone on to win several national awards. I continue to be an active group member and celebrate the successes of the other members of the group.

Vicky Folland is an ADI and joined the group about a year ago. She passed at gold and went on to do the diploma and onto become a fleet trainer for RoSPA. The attached screenshots are from the RoSPA ‘Care on the Road’ magazine which came out recently. It is an article about her achievements.
